International Institute of diamond classification and research (IIDGR) will present in September at the fair of gems and jewelry in Hong Kong (Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair) its latest equipment to detect synthetic stones, reported a subsidiary of De Beers.
The new device allows you to analyze PhosView party stones, to determine whether they are present in synthetic diamond produced by HPHT technology.
The device allows users to view, colorless and almost colorless diamonds of 0.003 to 1 carat on the screen when the rocks are exposed to ultraviolet radiography of. The method allows to detect stones that emit phosphorescent or luminescence, indicating that they may be synthetic as natural diamonds under ultraviolet light exhibit translucency. Phosphorescent stones are laid for subsequent analysis using the built-in device manipulators.
"With the growing concern in the diamond industry concerning concealment of synthetic stones produced by HPHT technology, trade protection trust received critical" - the president said IIDGR Jonathan Kendall (Jonathan Kendall).
The device, with which you can analyze unmounted stones and some decorations, will be presented at the fair 14-18 September. The exhibition will be held in Hong Kong from 13-17 September in the Asia World-Expo and Hong Kong from 15-19 September in the center of exhibitions and conferences (Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, HKCEC).
