consolidated companies did not have any opportunity to engage in production

According to media reports, the diamond fields of Marange (Marange) visited last week Permanent Secretary of the Zimbabwe mining ministry Professor Francis Gudianga (Francis Gudyanga) and the newly appointed Executive Director of the Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company (ZCDC) Morris Mpofu (Morris Mpofu), to assess the situation after reported a sharp increase in illegal diamond mining.
Zimbabwe Independent reports that the security service ZCDC was not able to stop the illegal diamond miners or worked with them to receive a portion of their earnings.
"There is a tendency to return to the illegal production, because every day more and more people are finding their place in the diamond fields," - said an unnamed source.
"State security deposits also cooperating with the illegal miners, who are asking from $ 200 to $ 800 US, so they mined diamonds for a certain number of hours, and share the income earned," - he continues.
Executive director of Zimbabwe's Natural Resources Management Center (Centre for Natural Resource Governance) Farai Maguwu (Farai Maguwu) said that every day until 1000 illegal miners come to the diamond fields of Marange.
"When the government stopped the activities of seven diamond firms and implemented ZCDC, in the new consolidated companies did not have any opportunity to engage in production in the first few months, they were treated with a residual ore Mbada Diamonds.", - he said.
As the chairman of association of Marange Community Development Trust Mudiva Malvern (Malvern Mudiwa), the last straw was the fact that the equipment Mbada Diamonds were sold at auction, and the security service was unable to do anything, creating a situation of permissiveness.
ZCDC was formed last year after the government refused to renew the license for production of diamond companies that have worked in Chiadzwa (Chiadzwa).
However Mbada Diamonds, Anjin and Jinan are suing the government, while the Marange Resources, Diamond Mining Company, Gye Nyame, Kusena and Rera Diamonds obeyed the decision.
